Joining President LaForge is Rebekah Lyons, hall director for Foundation Hall.

At Delta State, we believe living on campus broadens students’ college experiences and provides opportunities to make new friends and create memories that will last a lifetime. Our Office of Housing and Residence Life is dedicated to making student residential life the best it can be. With less than a month before the academic year begins, I’m pleased to provide some tips for dorm life. But first, here are some numbers to think about.

  • As of the beginning of July, 774 students have been assigned dorm rooms for the fall, including new and returning students—an increase of 151 students from this time last year.
  • Housing and Residence Life staff boasts 35 RAs, 2 assistant hall directors, and 5 hall directors.
  • Beginning this year, students are required to live on campus for the first two years they are enrolled at Delta State.

In other news on campus, make plans to attend our annual Convocation on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 3 PM in the BPAC, where I will be giving my State of the University address. All are invited.
