This week we are going to talk about one of Delta State’s newest and most unique majors, digital media arts. A bachelor of fine arts in digital media arts provides a foundation for students seeking to develop careers in the rapidly growing areas of motion graphics, animation, sound design, video production, and photography through a multidisciplinary approach. Here are some fun facts about the DMA program.
- There are 24 students currently majoring in digital media arts, and 7 graduated with that degree in the 2018-19 academic year.
- Some of the courses included in this program include screenwriting, animation, and fundamentals of digital video.
- Graduates are prepared for jobs such as videographer, video editor, sound design, and motion graphics designer.
In other news on campus, the last day new students should apply for admission for the fall semester is Monday, July 22. If you plan to graduate this summer, the graduation application deadline is Monday, Aug. 5.
