Joining President LaForge is Emily Jones, Delta State University’s archivist.
As our nation celebrates 50 years of space exploration and the lunar landing of Apollo 11, the University Archives and Museum and the Mississippi Delta Chinese Heritage Museum recognizes the contributions made by the Chinese-Americans living in the Mississippi Delta to the exploration, discovery, and successes of the NASA programs.
- “Re-Entry MS: 50 years after Apollo” is an in-house curated exhibition featuring items on loan from the individuals who played key roles in the establishment and development of NASA’s Apollo programs and subsequent STEM related discovery.
- The Mississippi Humanities Council awarded $6,254 in grant money in order to host this public program and the exhibition.
In other news on campus, the Re-entry Mississippi exhibition will be housed in the Capps Archives and Museum through Friday, August 30.
