This week is an exciting week on the Delta State campus as we prepare to host our annual Homecoming football game on Saturday. There are a multitude of events planned for the week including events for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Events kickoff today with Catfish on the Quad at 4 p.m. and will continue with events each day including the Alumni Awards Gala at 7 p.m. on Friday, the Lady Statesmen Basketball Reunion and Black Alumni reunion on Saturday as well as the 40th year celebration of the Robert E. Smith School of Nursing.
The Homecoming game is set to kickoff at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Parker-McCool Stadium, and the Delta State Alumni Association will host a tailgating party beginning at noon on Saturday in Statesmen Park.
In other news on campus, the Wiley Planetarium will host a show on Wednesday, November 8, at 6 p.m. that will explore the November sky. And, in athletic news, the women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams will compete on Friday at Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University this weekend. And, the women’s and men’s basketball teams are in action this weekend, with the women’s team playing at Barry University at 2 p.m. Saturday and the men’s team playing Florida Southern College at home at 7 p.m Saturday.
