Joining President LaForge is Delta State Director of Recruiting Caitlyn Thompson.

From April 6th through 9th, Delta State will host one of its biggest annual events – Go Green Weekend, a weekend packed with a full schedule of alumni, athletic and student events. From live entertainment and cooking competitions to baseball games and campus tours, there is something for everyone. Festivities will kick off on Thursday, April 6, with the annual Bolivar County Crawfish Boil beginning at 5:30 p.m. in front of Walter Sillers Coliseum. Register for the event on the Alumni Association page at deltastategiving.org.

Friday, April 7, is DSU Parents Day, and so any parents or guardians of students are encouraged to sign up by contacting the Office of Student Life at orientation@deltastate.edu. And, the Alumni Cooking Competition will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday just outside of the Tim and Nancy Harvey Baseball Stadium. Friday’s activities will conclude with live entertainment by DeltaRox from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Tim and Nancy Harvey Baseball Stadium.

In other news on campus, today marks the beginning of our fourth annual Winning the Race conference. It is free and open to the public, and we encourage you to join us as we explore the topic of advancing education in the Mississippi Delta. To find out more, visit www.deltastate.edu/winningtherace or click on the link on our homepage. This week also marks the beginning of the 12th annual International Business Symposium, and we appreciate the many Delta State alumni and business leaders who make this event so successful each year, particularly the symposium’s sponsors David and Sherry Abney. David, who is a Delta State alumnus, is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of UPS and is a great ambassador for Delta State.
