Joining President LaForge are two of the ten faculty members from China who visited Delta State earlier this month.

This month, Delta State had the opportunity to host a group of ten faculty members from Anyang Institute of Technology in Anyang, China. These faculty members were on Delta State’s campus for two weeks taking part in an exchange program that is part of the university’s goal to broaden international exchange opportunities for students and faculty members. The trip, coined The China Summer Camp, is the result of a partnership that Dr. Charles McAdams, Delta State’s provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, helped to form after his trip to China earlier this year.

The visit focused on giving our guests opportunities to explore higher education in the United States, Southern culture, and study abroad opportunities for students. Delta State provided summer training workshops for faculty to help them understand our educational system in the hope that they will send their students here to study. The plan is to host a camp next summer for Chinese students to help them prepare to study in an American university. All ten of the faculty members experienced their first trip to the United States during this visit.
