Joining President LaForge are three graduating Delta State students and Bob Santelli, executive director of the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. LIVE.
Commencement is always one of the happiest and most rewarding days at Delta State University, and this year’s Spring Commencement ceremony featured keynote speaker Bob Santelli, executive director of the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. LIVE, who also was awarded an honorary degree from Delta State. More than 450 graduates were awarded degrees Saturday and leave Delta State prepared to become leaders in a wide array of careers.
In other news on campus, Delta State is gearing up to welcome the newest class of Teach for America corps members to Delta State later this month, which is always an exciting time for campus. On Monday, a select group of Delta State students will leave on a trip to Poland to visit our international partners at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL). Also, President LaForge will travel to Bulgaria next week to The University of National and World Economy Law School, where he served as a visiting professor of law in 2006. He will take part in a program celebrating their 25th anniversary, and will also talk with them about an exchange program Delta State is developing with that university. Stay tuned for more on these ventures in upcoming editions of Fireside Chat.
