Joining President LaForge is Congressional Fellow and Delta State student Zack Odoms.
Each year, a Delta State student is selected for a unique opportunity to intern with U.S. Senator Thad Cochran as part of the Congressional Fellow program, which is sponsored by Delta State and the Delta Council. A long-standing tradition, the program is designed to give each student an opportunity to enrich their academic experience while learning the legislative process through serving on the Senator’s staff.
Zack is a biology student and moved to D.C. in early January to begin this experience and to be a part of our nation’s political process. He is a native of Pascagoula and is currently enlisted in the U.S. Army.
In other news on campus, it’s commencement week at Delta State, an exciting time for all of our graduates, their families and the many faculty and staff who have been a part of their time at Delta State. Commencement is set for 10 a.m. at Walter Sillers Coliseum. And, for all of our students taking finals this week there will be a “Study Break” event tonight through Thursday night in the Union between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. if you need to take a break from the books and unwind with some fun activities and food.
