President William N. LaForge welcomes the audience to the State’s Capitol for this edition of fireside chat covering the Blueprint Mississippi Social Business Challenge competition. A team of Delta State students showcased their talent in a state-wide competition after winning the on-campus social business challenge competition.
The goals of the Blueprint Mississippi Social Business Challenge are to encourage students to develop ideas for solving Mississippi’s most pressing problems, while learning important lessons about planning, teamwork and presenting ideas.
LaForge introduces guests and project team members, Ann Sweezer, Justin Boatman, and FaDerricka Harvey.
The students discuss the project details, preparation for the competition, and potential impact on Mississippi. To read more about the Business Challenge and team projects, visit the website at Mississippi.edu/msbc.
LaForge mentions several significant events taking place throughout the rest of the semester, including the Winning The Race conference, Go Green Weekend, the International Business Symposium, Springfest, the Band Perry concert, Commencement and more.
“Stay up-to-date with these events by visiting the Delta State website at www.deltastate.edu and checking out the calendar. Also, updates and announcements on these events will be distributed to the campus community via email, so stay tuned.”
“Thank you for joining me today, and I will see you here next week for another edition of fireside chat.”
Fireside chat was filmed in the office of Senator Eugene S. “Buck” Clarke on the second floor on the State Capitol.
