Years of support appreciated

Delta State University thanks the Sledge family and Nehi Bottling Company for their many years of support.

The Sledge family has owned the Nehi Bottling Company in Cleveland, Mississippi since 1927. The company employs approximately 18 people and distributes Nehi, Royal Crown (RC) Cola, Dr. Pepper, Seven Up, A & W, Country Time, Sunkist and Canada Dry throughout the Mississippi Delta and to Delta State University.

President LaForge, “Homer Sledge and the entire Sledge family and the Nehi Bottling Company have been such great friends and supporters of  Delta State over the years.  They exemplify the ideal partnership between the university and a local business, and individually they are wonderfully loyal to Delta State.”

“The Sledge family and the Nehi Bottling Company have been such great friends and supporters of  Delta State  and the City of Cleveland over the years.  Delta State Athletics greatly appreciate their friendship and loyalty,” said Ronnie Mayers.

“Our family business was founded about the time of the first graduating class at Delta State Teachers College,” said Homer Sledge, Jr. “My father believed it was important to support not only Delta State, but the many charitable organizations that serve the needs of our community. My family is very proud to carry on the tradition of supporting our community,” said Homer Sledge, Jr.
