Welcome Week kicks off today

The fall semester officially begins today, and Delta State is excited to offer a week of special activities welcoming students to campus and offering ways for them to be involved with student organizations and groups.

Welcome Week activities begin today at noon with Water Works on the Quad, and it will continue until 4 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., the Baptist Student Union will hold its annual Barbeque Cookout on the Quad, and the festivities will continue at 9 p.m. with the always popular Foam Party on the Quad. Events will take place throughout the week, and will wrap up with a Campus Party on Saturday from 9 p.m. until midnight in the Wyatt Gym.

In other news on campus, the Office of Housing and Residence Life is sponsoring a Back-to-School Blood Drive tomorrow and Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m. Each donor will receive a Mississippi Blood Services t-shirt and will be entered to win drawings for various gift cards. On Thursday night, we are excited to welcome singer songwriter Jason Isbell to campus for his performance at the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The show is set for 7:30 p.m.
